Dubai has launched an ambitious new initiative to train 10,000 workers in artificial intelligence (AI) by the year 2030, further strengthening the emirate’s status as a global leader in digital innovation. The campaign was announced as part of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, underlining the city’s commitment to embracing and advancing next-generation technology.
Central to this effort is the creation of the Dubai AI Campus, set to become the largest cluster of its kind in the region. The Campus will serve as a dynamic knowledge hub, offering specialised training programmes to help both private and public sector employees enhance their digital skills and adapt to rapidly evolving markets. The initiative is expected to play a crucial role in preparing Dubai’s workforce for the AI-driven economy and create new opportunities across diverse industries including finance, healthcare, logistics, and urban planning.
Mohamed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services of the UAE Government, said: “The Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence reflects the vision of our leadership to build the skills and capabilities needed to compete globally.”
Under the programme, workers will benefit from comprehensive training modules, practical workshops and direct access to state-of-the-art AI tools. The plan is designed not only to improve technical expertise but also to encourage innovative thinking and foster entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, local and international tech companies will be encouraged to participate in the initiative, further boosting Dubai’s attractiveness as a destination for talent and investment.
The program also supports the UAE’s broader Digital Economy Strategy, which aims to increase the digital sector’s contribution to GDP. By investing in digital literacy and expertise, Dubai looks set to remain at the forefront of global technological advancement, attracting major tech firms and startups alike.
With this new initiative, Dubai continues to assert itself as a pioneering smart city, setting a benchmark for others in the region — and beyond — to follow.
