G42 Expands Chip Partnerships to Fortify UAE-US AI Park Infrastructure
G42, a leading technology group backed by Abu Dhabi, is actively pursuing a strategy to diversify its chip suppliers for the ambitious UAE-US AI park. The move comes as part of a broader push to decrease dependence on NVIDIA, the current primary provider, and to strengthen supply chain resilience amid shifting geopolitical dynamics and potential supply chain disruptions.
The initiative reflects an industry-wide trend of supply chain diversification, as global firms seek to bolster their operational stability through a more varied and flexible ecosystem of partners. For G42, this strategy is crucial in ensuring the reliability and scalability of the AI infrastructure envisioned for the park, which aspires to be a cornerstone of innovation in the region.
In pursuit of this vision, G42 is reportedly in active discussions with several American tech giants, including Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, and Elon Musk’s xAI, inviting them to become tenants within the data center. Of these conversations, progress with Google is said to be the most advanced, signaling potential early momentum in attracting marquee partners to the park.
Beyond rebalancing its chip sourcing, G42 has embarked on potential partnerships with leading semiconductor firms such as AMD, Cerebras Systems, and Qualcomm. These relationships are expected to furnish a significant portion of the computational capabilities required to operate sophisticated AI systems within the facility.
The AI park first captured global attention during a May visit to the UAE by former U.S. President Donald Trump, during which over $20 billion in deals were announced. The park stands as a tangible symbol of the growing importance of artificial intelligence in the Gulf and the wider Middle East, reinforcing the UAE’s intent to become a regional tech powerhouse.
Through its dual efforts to broaden its chip network and cultivate partnerships with top-tier technology firms, G42 is establishing the UAE-US AI park as a future-ready hub for innovation, international cooperation, and digital transformation.
