Dubai’s AI-Driven ‘Tadreeb’ Platform Revolutionises Driver Training and Licensing

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is reshaping the future of driver training and licensing in the emirate with the launch of the ‘Tadreeb’ platform—an advanced digital ecosystem that integrates artificial intelligence (AI), real-time data, and smart systems across all driving institutes in the city. The innovative platform is part of a strategic drive to raise road safety standards, reduce processing times, and enhance efficiency in the driver qualification process.

A Centralised Digital Training System

‘Tadreeb’ connects all licensed driving institutes in Dubai through a single, centralised digital network. It manages the complete driver training cycle—from onboarding and scheduling to performance assessment—with all operations handled paperlessly. Each training vehicle is fitted with GPS tracking, allowing for geo-monitored driving sessions and fully automated assessment procedures.

Covering more than 27 locations citywide with the support of over 3,400 instructors and 3,000 training vehicles, the platform processes driver training for approximately 250,000 trainees annually, amounting to more than six million hours of instruction. Since its inception, the system has functioned with zero reported safety incidents, setting a strong benchmark for reliability and performance.

AI-Driven Insights for Personalised Driving Education

At its heart, ‘Tadreeb’ leverages AI to analyse individual learner data, offering personalised training recommendations based on skill level, behaviour trends, and real-time performance metrics. This ensures that each trainee receives the most relevant, high-quality instruction possible.

Integrated dashboards give both authorities and training centres a bird’s-eye view of session progress, instructor compliance, and overall system performance. These insights have significantly improved:

  • Assessment transparency and accuracy
  • Training consistency
  • Process governance and oversight

In addition, a fully automated transaction system enables seamless handling of permits, contracts, and evaluations. This has led to a:

  • 50% reduction in permit issuance waiting times
  • Noticeably lower operational costs
  • Enhanced remote monitoring through the Smart Licencing Centre
  • Remarkable 97% trainer compliance with mandatory training milestones

Groundbreaking Global Recognition

Marking a significant milestone, ‘Tadreeb’ is the first driver training platform to be officially recognised by the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA), establishing Dubai as a leader in global road safety standardisation.

The platform was further honoured in 2025 with the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award—a distinguished accolade that affirmed the system’s role in enhancing driver education quality and its impact on reducing road risks through technology.

Future Vision for Sustainable, Global-Standard Training

Looking forward, the RTA intends to build on Tadreeb’s capabilities by integrating more AI-powered customer service features, expanding data analytics for customised learning pathways, and further automating training audits. These steps aim to create a sustainable, forward-thinking system that aligns with global best practices in driver education.

Dubai’s RTA remains firmly committed to working with strategic partners, promoting innovation, and enforcing high standards of compliance and safety in all facets of the driver licensing lifecycle.
